Ice Cream Shop Celebrates Big, Gay Grand Opening

Celebrity chef and TV personality Anthony Bourdain had no reservations about touting his favorite cold confectionary find at the grand opening of the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop.

“When I choose ice cream, I choose Big Gay Ice Cream — as we all should,” he said.

Big Gay Ice Cream, of food truck fame, officially opened the doors to its first non-truck venue on Saturday. Located on Seventh Street between First Avenue and Avenue A, the shop was created as a way to lighten the load on the truck, which was not able to handle the huge number of customers.
