Cops are going to start enforcing traffic regulations for cyclists in Prospect Park, according to Patch: “Summonses will be issued to any biker who is driving the wrong way, speeding, riding outside of the bike lane and or driving in a way that is dangerous to others.” The increased enforcement will start after this weekend, when the NYPD will hand out fliers detailing the rules of the road to cyclists. The move follows recent bike-pedestrian accidents in the park. (via Brownstoner)

Developer Bruce Ratner will build the world’s tallest pre-fabricated tower as the first residential building inside his Atlantic Yards mega-project, dealing a blow to labor unions and architecture enthusiasts — whose original support for the development was conditioned on job creation and the promise of a mini city built by starchitect Frank Gehry.

Have you seen these faces in Park Slope? 11 portraits of local immigrant shopkeepers had their images displayed on 36-by-48-inch black-and-white photographs, cut horizontally and displayed on steps of a few stoops on Bergen Street. The project, developed by a Paris street artist known as JR, is led by resident Dana Eskelson, who was concerned that the local shopkeepers were being forced out of business by the arrival of the Atlantic Yards stadium.
