Are you excited for #NYCWFF yet? In preparation for our sponsorship of this weekend’s upcoming Food Network New York City Wine and Food Festival, this week we’ll be posting some of our favorite food-related finds from around town. Up next, here’s 3 ultra-cool New York bakers, who make some of the most delicious treats on our to-try list.
Based on how our foursquare tips are being used around New York, we present the first ever Corcoran neighborhood showdown! Who has the best burger? The best slice? The best rooftop garden! Corcoran’s over 12,000 Foursquare followers tell us in this fun infographic. Enjoy!
Find them at the Brooklyn Flea or at locations around the city. You must try the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate!
DOUGH Donuts: A Far Cry From The Old Fashioned
“If you’re happy, the donuts are happy…” says Fany Gerson, the 2011 James Beard nominated cookbook author and donut mastermind behind DOUGH, an innovative, never-a-few-hours-old artisan donut shop in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. We think these donuts look absolutely delicious!

SCRATCHbread: Strength in a Loaf of Bread
Meet Scratchbread’s Matt Tilden, one of Brooklyn’s most passionate bakers. For him, it’s about giving back to people through food, because good food had given him so much in his life…personally and professionally. He simply just wants people to experience how eating better can change your lifestyle and build communities.

We had a pre-Oscars party yesterday where we submitted our ballots to pick this year’s winners. It could be a showdown between The King’s Speech and The Social Network, two of our favorites this year. We’re also predicting that Mr. Firth and Ms. Portman will be making appearances toward the end of the evening! However, the best part of our party were the CUPCAKES! Each one was topped with an image of a nominee - Jeff Bridges was a crowd favorite…who knew he tasted so sweet. Available now at Eleni’s in Chelsea Market.

It’s official…New York City is going through a Doughnut Revolution. It might be that the cupcake craze is now morphing into a doughnut frenzy…we’re not complaining, as we love the sugary treat almost as much as Homer Simpson. The NY Times has a great list of the city’s best doughnuts…and we’re set on trying them all.

This is brilliant! NYC the Blog spotted a Twitter Bird in Soho, on Sullivan Street in front of Once Upon a Tart, which seems to be taunting people as they exit the delicious bakery!
