Manhattan’s K-Town is busting out of its britches, with a less-than-zero percent vacancy rate on 32nd street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue forcing many restaurants to set up shop outside of the coveted main drag, the Wall Street Journal reports. (read more at Gothamist)

18th Annual Taste of Times Square
WHAT: One of New York City’s most mouth-watering outdoor food festivals.
Times Square’s top restaurants will be offering dishes from around the world, at the Crossroads of the World, at the 18th annual Taste of Times Square outdoor food and music festival.
WHEN: June 6, 2011. 5-9pm. (Come early for the best selection of food)
WHERE: Times Square, Broadway Plazas, between 42nd and 47th Streets
ADMISSION: FREE! There is no admission fee to the Taste of Times Square food festival. Each “taste” ticket is $1 with most dishes ranging from $1-$5.
Tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the food festival and in advance at the Times Square Visitor Center and Mini-Museum on 7th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets.

With 12 of the 26.2 miles of the marathon in Brooklyn - from Bay Ridge to Greenpoint - there are plenty of options for food and drink along the way for both runner and non-runners. The Brooklyn Paper shows us where to load up on carbs and booze during this year’s race on November 7th.

It’s no surprise that Brooklyn boasts some of the city’s best restaurants: old standbys such as Peter Luger’s Steak House in Williamsburg, Park Slope’s Italian Al Di La and Middle Eastern spot Tanoreen in Bay Ridge were again heralded as having the city’s “Top Food” in the newest Zagat restaurant guide.
